Tip-27: Should I Wait to Quit Smoking Cigarettes?

My name is Joseph Giove. I’m a biomedical engineer and a clinical hypnotist. I’ve helped thousands of people stop smoking over the last twenty five years. I created this video series to help you become free of the habit an addiction of smoking cigarettes.

Should I wait to quit smoking? I often get asked this question if someone is approaching a wedding or a party or they going to take a vacation or they know they are going to go through some stressful time. Well, there are always reasons you will find to not quit smoking, these are just rationalizations of an addicted brain. Where you need to get your attention are the reasons to quit smoking, because there is always a reason not to, there is always going to be a stressful time, there is always going to be an event, there is always going to be something in the future that as a smoker you may want to smoke for or through.

Becoming a nonsmoker is having cigarettes and nicotine become irrelevant to you in your life. There are billions of people that have stress, that party, that play, that enjoy vacations where cigarettes are completely irrelevant. That is your goal, that is the state you want to attain, and waiting for some magical moment in the future, a moment that never comes, is just putting off the inevitable. So make up your mind, pick a day and just do it.
